I like tackling the challenge of stimulating individuals to make a small but important contribution to a more sustainable consumption system and thus change the world one person at a time.
Sandra Rousseau is an associate professor at the Research Center for Economics and Corporate Sustainability (CEDON) of the KU Leuven in Belgium. After her Ph.D. on the monitoring and enforcement of environmental policy instruments, the main focus of her research became the design, implementation and evaluation of environmental policy instruments. To this end she explicitly takes the implementation of policy in practice into account by including imperfect compliance and asymmetric information. She is also exploring the implementation of non-market valuation techniques, since an explicit (monetary) valuation of the impacts associated with policy scenarios is crucial when evaluating and designing an adequate environmental policy. Besides environmental policy design and evaluation, she is also interested in research evaluation.
